These clubs came together to form the very first professional football league in Mexico, known as the Liga Mayor, in 1943. 1. Club América

2. Club Necaxa


Also hailing from Mexico City, Club Necaxa was established by the workers of the local electric company. Donning red and white stripes, they earned the nickname “Los Electricistas” (The Electricians). Necaxa became renowned for their teamwork and electrifying plays that dazzled fans across the nation.


3. Club Marte

4. Club Asturias

6. Club Deportivo Veracruz

7. Atlas F.C.

8. Club Deportivo Guadalajara (Chivas)

9. A.D.O. (Asociación Deportiva Orizabeña)

10. Club Deportivo Moctezuma
