The Sky Tree Secret: A Tokyo Adventure, Chapter 11
Chapter 11: The Final Confrontation
The Observation Deck was silent except for the faint hum of distant airplane engines. The shadowy figure took a step forward, his sunglasses glinting under the deck’s lights.
“Hand over the shard and the crystal,” he said, extending a gloved hand.
“No!” Haru said firmly, stepping in front of Aiko. “You’ll never get them.”
The man smirked. “You don’t understand, boy. The crystal isn’t just light—it’s power. With it, I could control every light in Tokyo, every network, every connection. This city would be mine.”
“You’re wrong!” Aiko shouted. “The shard belongs to Hikari. It’s supposed to protect Tokyo, not control it!”
The shadowy figure sighed and reached into his coat, pulling out a small, handheld device. With a press of a button, every light on the Observation Deck flickered and dimmed.
“Enough talking. Give me the shard, or this entire airport goes dark… and chaos will follow.”
Haru’s mind raced. Tama let out a soft meow and nudged Haru’s hand.
“Tama…” Haru muttered. Then he realized—Tama was pointing at the crystal box.
“Get ready to run,” Haru whispered to Aiko.
With one swift motion, Haru grabbed the crystal shard from Aiko and smashed it against the glass box. The two shards began to glow brightly, merging into one radiant crystal.
A burst of blue light filled the air, blinding everyone momentarily. Tama leaped into action, jumping onto the shadowy figure and knocking the handheld device from his hand.
“No!” the man roared.
“Now, Aiko!” Haru yelled.
They dashed toward the exit, clutching the glowing crystal. Tama darted after them, leaving the shadowy figure scrambling to pick up his device.
The children burst back into the terminal, panting and clutching the crystal tightly.
“Haru, the light!” Aiko pointed out the window.
In the distance, Tokyo Skytree’s light was flickering even weaker than before.
“We have to get back to Hikari!” Haru said.
