The Sky Tree Secret: A Tokyo Adventure, Chapter 3
Chapter 3: Hikari, the Sky Guardian
The elevator came to a stop with a soft chime. The doors slid open, revealing a breathtaking sight.
They stepped into a glass-walled observatory room unlike anything they’d ever seen. Above them, the night sky stretched infinitely, stars scattered like tiny diamonds. Below, Tokyo glittered in silence.
In the center of the room stood a tiny figure—barely a foot tall, glowing faintly like a lantern. It looked like a miniature person made of starlight, wearing a robe woven from shimmering light. Its eyes were large and kind, and its voice echoed softly as it spoke.
“Welcome, travelers. My name is Hikari, the Guardian of the Skytree Light.”
Aiko gasped. Haru’s jaw dropped. Tama let out a mechanical meow.
“You… you’re real!” Haru stammered.
“Yes,” Hikari said, floating slightly above the floor. “But I’m afraid I don’t have much time. My light… it’s fading.”
The tiny guardian gestured upward. Above them, the Skytree light flickered weakly.
“What happened?” Aiko asked.
Hikari’s glow dimmed slightly. “My power comes from a crystal shard hidden deep within Tokyo. But it’s been taken… stolen.”
“Stolen?” Haru repeated. “By who?”
“I do not know,” Hikari said. “But without the shard, Tokyo’s skies will grow dark. And with darkness… comes chaos.”
The room felt colder suddenly. Tokyo, bright and alive below them, seemed fragile—like it could all disappear with the fading light.
“But we can help, right?” Aiko said firmly.
Hikari nodded slowly. “If you’re brave enough to follow the clues, yes. The shard must be found before the next full moon, or the light will go out forever.”
The tiny guardian raised a glowing hand, and in it appeared a small, folded map with strange symbols.
“Take this. Follow it, and you will find the first clue.”
Haru took the map, his hands trembling slightly. Aiko squeezed Tama tight.
“We’ll find it, Hikari,” Haru said, determination hardening in his voice. “We promise.”
Outside the glass walls, the Skytree light flickered again—a faint pulse of hope in the endless night sky.
